  • To the University of Rochester School of Medicine Class of 2014 for their efforts to raise funds to support breast cancer patient care and research. They raised $37 by selling bracelets and other items.
  • To the organizers of the first invitational golf tournament held at Webster Country Club. 64 golfers participated and more than $300 was raised at their event to support patient care at the Wilmot Cancer Center.
  • To Lyons National Bank and the organizers of the Macedon Good Neighbor Day for their donation of $19, proceeds from the raffle the bank hosted during this community event.
  • To the organizers of the 4th annual ‘Road Rocks’ Bushwood Invitational golf tournament, which raises funds to support radiation oncology research at the Wilmot Cancer Center. More than 75 golfers participated in this fun and casual event, raising $4,000. This event is hosted annually by family and friends of Rodney J. Stark, who succumbed to his cancer in 2006.
  • To the Mall at Greece Ridge Center, and all the retailers who participated in th ‘Holiday Coupon Bags’ event which raised $1,100 for the Wilmot Cancer Center. Bags containing more than $300 in valuable coupons formany of the mall restaurants and shops were sold for $10 each during the Thanksgiving holiday week.
  • To Angelo Rose, Tobey Reh and their staff at Rose and Reh Attorneys in Victor for hosting their 2nd annual Christmas Party to benefit the Patient Needs Fund at the Wilmot Cancer Center. More than $10,000 was raised through ticket sales and raffles for opening day game tickets for the New York Yankees. The event, held at Ravenwood Golf Club, provided guests with great food and drink, and musical entertainment by Angelo Rose.
  • Eastview Mall was the site of all around family fun Saturday, February 5th as volunteers staged the first Wilmot Winter Carnival. Carnival type games and crafts were set up throughout the mall enticing kids to come and play. More than 80 participants enjoyed the day, raising $1,000 for cancer care and research efforts at the Wilmot Cancer Center.
  • Nancy Lives eventThe family members and friends of Nancy Roberts hosted the 2nd Annual Nancy Lives, Wilmot Gives on Saturday, January 22 at Easy on East. Mike Roberts and a host of volunteers organized this annual event in memory of Mike’s mother, Nancy.  The event celebrates her life, and raised much-needed funds for cancer research at the Wilmot Cancer Center. This year the group surpassed their goal of $10,000 by more than $3,000 – raising just over $13,000 for this wonderful cause.   • Blue Knights of New YorkThe members of the Blue Knights of New York, Chapter 31 donated $1,075 to support breast cancer patient care and research at the Wilmot Cancer Center. They hosted a charity motorcycle ride through the Finger Lakes Region in August. Mark your calendars for the 2011 Ride which will take place on Saturday August 20, 2011.   • Tyler-BaldinoTyler Baldino, of Boy Scout Troop 129 in Pittsford, chose the Wilmot Cancer Center to benefit from his Eagle Scout Project. Tyler built custom magazine racks for each of the infusion areas in the Cancer Center. Patients now have a variety of reading materials to choose from without have to wait for a volunteer to provide them.  Tyler is pictured with Robert Kessler, Wilmot Cancer Center Board Chair.
  • Evening with the CaptainCongratulations to the family and friends of ‘Captain’ Jack Cunliffe who hosted the 3rd annual ‘Evening for the Captain’ event January 28 to raise funds to support patient care and cancer research. In celebration of the life and wonderful memories of ‘Captain Jack,’ 150 attendees dressed in their best beach attire, listened and danced to tropical music and enjoyed a wonderful buffet. More than $3,500 was raised through silent auctions and raffles.
