$10M gift will power Neuromedicine
Thanks to a founding gift from a Rochester entrepreneur, URMC’s new Ernest J. Del Monte Neuromedicine Institute aims to spawn future cures for Alzheimer’s disease, stroke and other befuddling neurological disorders. In an interview, Webster Pilcher, M.D., Ph.D., Department of Neurosurgery chair and director of the new Institute, distills the plans in more detail. More»
Plans are progressing for URMC’s Clinical Transformation Project – a wide-sweeping effort to begin building a fully integrated, patient-centric electronic medical record (EMR) that stretches across our entire acute care system.
A safe place for final conversations, a firm focus on family, and courage to face life-threatening diagnoses head-on: these are just some of the tenets of the new 12-bed Albert and Phyllis Sussman Palliative Care Unit, which opened at Strong Memorial Hospital in April.
In order to achieve out smoke-free goals and preserve the valuable partnership we’ve worked so hard to forge with our neighbors, URMC has instituted a practical compromise, carving out two “smoking outposts” within its perimeter.
The University’s School of Medicine and Dentistry moved up five positions to 31st best research medical school and up four to 15th best primary care medical school in U.S. News & World Report's 2010 listing of top graduate schools in the country.
Celebrate milestones achieved by our faculty – special honors, new appointments and more.
