Raiders of the Lost Art

The Class of 2011 chose Bilal Ahmed, M.D., associate professor of clinical medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center and associate chief of medicine at Highland Hospital, as the faculty speaker at commencement. Ahmed, recently named a fellow in the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom, the highest level of membership of the Royal College, spoke about the art of listening to patients and caring for them. Medicine Rebooted

Eric J. Topol, M.D., a Class of 1979 graduate of the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry known as one of the nation’s top medical researchers, is the director of the Scripps Translational Science Institute in California, which focuses on individualized medicine.
