Landings on for the central staircase were designed to consist of both formal and informal meeting areas. On each floor, the staircase is flanked by a common break room and glass walled conference rooms.
The office areas were designed to both lower electricity usage and foster scientific teamwork. The open configuration brings more sunlight into the interior of the building. The low cubicles and glass walled offices were designed to promote interaction.
