Strong Memorial Hospital's Sports Injury Clinic
August 07, 2000
With most high schools and colleges holding fall sporting events on Friday evenings and on Saturdays, there is frequent need for sports injury treatment during weekend hours. From now until October 30, physicians at Strong Memorial Hospital's University Sports Medicine program are offering a Sports Injury Clinic for competitive athletes in need of injury evaluation and treatment on Saturday.
The clinic, open to high school and college athletes acutely injured during organized athletic competition, provides specialized and prompt sports medicine care on Saturday afternoons from 4 pm and 7 pm at Strong Memorial Hospital. Sports medicine physicians are available to see athletes requiring urgent attention for injuries, including sprains, strains, contusions, fractures, and suspected fractures. Prompt treatment not only reduces the athlete's anxiety over a sports injury, but improves the likelihood of a faster recovery.
Strong's Sports Injury Clinic is located in the Clark Musculoskeletal Unit which is accessed from Crittenden Boulevard. Free parking is available directly outside the entrance to the clinic.
Since its inception in 1990, Strong's Sports Injury Clinic has treated hundreds of Rochester and Finger Lakes area athletes. Physicians at the University's Sports Medicine Department serve as the team physicians for the Rochester Americans, the Knighthawks, the Rhinos, the Red Wings, and for several area high schools and colleges.
