Expert on Health Policy and Finance to Speak at UR

Gail Wilensky, Ph.D., will give the next Eastman Memorial Lecture at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Arthur Kornberg Medical Research Building. She will discuss "The Changing Healthcare Landscape."
Dr. Wilensky is the current John M. Olin Senior Fellow at Project HOPE, an international health foundation in Washington, D.C., that analyzes and develops policies relating to health reform. She also chairs the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission, which advises Congress on all payment and expenditures relating to Medicare.
She served as Deputy Assistant to the President for Policy Development during the Bush administration, advising on health and welfare issues. Prior to that, Dr. Wilensky was Administrator of the Health Care Financing Administration, overseeing Medicare and Medicaid programs.
The lecture is free and open to the public. Parking will be provided at no charge in the lot located at the entrance to the Arthur Kornberg Medical Research Building.
