Free Program Helps Couples Plan for a Baby

Advice for couples who are considering having a baby will be offered by Strong Health specialists at a free seminar on May 17, 7 to 9 p.m. at the Jewish Community Center.
Maybe Baby: A Seminar for Couples Considering Having a Baby will address topics of concern to couples, such as:
- Preparing for pregnancy including diet, exercise and workplace issues;
- Getting pregnant, factors affecting fertility and myths about conception;
- Tips for a healthy pregnancy regarding weight gain, safe exercise and prenatal care;
- Childbirth classes and breastfeeding preparation.
Participants will also learn about ultrasound and other technology that may be used during pregnancy. Presentations will be followed by a question-and-answer period.
Speakers for the evening will include obstetrician-gynecologist Uma Penmetsa, M.D., perinatologist Thomas McNanley, M.D., and lactation consultant Vivian Condello.
