Watch the Golisano Children's Hospital Telethon on 10NBC June 1-2
May 17, 2002
Support kids by joining us Saturday, June 1, and Sunday, June 2, for the 19th annual Golisano Children's Hospital Telethon, broadcast live from Golisano Children's Hospital. Hundreds of TV stations throughout North America - including 10NBC locally - will take part in the telethon, broadcasting from local children's hospitals in the United States and Canada.
Televised live from Golisano Children's Hospital's pediatric practice, the local event is presented in conjunction with the national broadcast from Walt Disney World. As they have for nearly two decades, members of Rochester's own 10NBC - including Brett Davidsen, Shelly Ribando, and Rick Hager - will host the telethon, which is from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, June 1, and 6 a.m. to noon Sunday, June 2
"We're proud to again team with 10NBC to present this year's telethon, which offers an opportunity to honor our patients and their families, many of whom will share their stories in person and on video during the broadcast," says Dr. Elizabeth McAnarney, pediatrician-in-chief at Golisano Children's Hospital. "The telethon also allows the hospital to raise funds that provide needed equipment for the thousands of children we serve each year, as well as comfort items that make their stay - and that of their family - a little easier."
All donations made during the telethon benefit Golisano Children's Hospital. In the past, donations have been used to buy specialized equipment, such as preemie blood-pressure cuffs, and supplies that make hospital stays easier, such as IV pole wagons, videos, and sleeper chairs. These chairs allow parents to have a comfortable place to rest when they stay with their children around the clock.
Donations will also be used to help meet the hospital's most pressing need, which is to build a new Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for children and teens.
Tune in to 10NBC June 1-2 and help make miracles happen for kids!
