Strong Memorial Hospital Offers After-Hours Sports Injury Hotline
September 10, 1999
Often times, an athlete, coach, or parent may be unsure about the need for medical attention for a sports injury. Even if an injury seems minor, it's important to seek prompt medical advice early, since doing so can help prevent unnecessary aggravation of an injury and can help an athlete return to competition safely and more quickly.
To help answer athletes', coaches', and parents' questions, physicians at Strong Memorial Hospital's University Sports Medicine program offer a Sports Injury Hotline for sports medicine advice and/or evaluation after regular office hours (nights, weekends, holidays). The hotline will put the caller in touch with one of Strong's specially-trained sports medicine physicians, who also serve as the team physicians for the Amerks, Knighthawks, and Rhinos.
The hotline number is (716) 258-0055. During regular business hours, please call University Sports Medicine at (716) 275-7379.
