The University of Rochester Medical Center’s Neurology/Movement Disorders Unit, a designated National Parkinson Foundation Center of Excellence, together with the Parkinson’s Support Group of Upstate New York, Inc., will host a Parkinson’s Disease Symposium on September 18.

The event, which is open to the public, will feature both local and national experts on Parkinson’s disease and associated ancillary services. These experts will discuss current treatments, research efforts, experimental medications, surgical approaches, and methods of coping with the disease. Vendor booths will be on display during breaks and lunch.

The symposium is sponsored in part by educational grants from Athena Neurosciences, DuPont Pharma, Pharmacia & Upjohn, Roche Pharmaceuticals, and SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals, Inc. The day-long program registration fee is $15/person or $25/couple and includes a box lunch for the first 250 registrants.
