Orlando Named President of Plastic Surgeons' Group

Greg S. Orlando, M.D., of Penfield, was elected president of the Society of Plastic Surgeons of Upstate New York at the group's annual meeting in June.
Orlando is a plastic surgeon at Strong Memorial Hospital of the University of Rochester Medical Center. He also serves as an assistant professor on the faculty of the University of Rochester's division of Plastic Surgery. He specializes in hand surgery and reconstructive microsurgery.
Orlando earned his bachelor's degree in from the University of Rochester and is a graduate of the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. He completed residencies in general surgery at University of Connecticut and in plastic surgery in at the University of Rochester. He also completed fellowship training in integrated hand and microsurgery at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix.
As president, Orlando will host in the Society's annual meeting in Rochester next spring. The Society, which originated in Rochester, represents over 30 plastic surgeons in Upstate New York.
Also at the Society's annual meeting, research presented by Steven Moran, M.D., a plastic surgery research resident at the University of Rochester, was selected as the best scientific paper. Moran presented his research on medications used to decrease adhesions after flexor tendon surgery.
