Students sought for UR Summer Science Academy

Applications are available for the University of Rochester Summer Science Academy, scheduled for July 19 to Aug. 13. The annual event offers high school students interested in biological science the benefit of UR faculty and facilities.
The four-week program (formerly the Summer Microbiology Academy) consists of both guided and independent lab projects, discussion workshops, computer labs, seminars and field trips. It emphasizes microbiology, immunology, molecular biology and genetics.
Applicants must currently be in grades nine through 12, have taken at least one year of high school biology or an equivalent, and have a strong interest in science. Tuition for the four-week program is $750, and a number of financial aid scholarships are available.
