Dr. Joseph Delehanty Receives URMC Chairman’s Quality Award

During the annual meeting of the University of Rochester Medical Center Board, chairman Ronald B. Knight presented the second annual Chairman’s Quality Award to Joseph Delehanty, M.D. The award recognizes employees whose professional and personal standards exemplify quality patient care. Delehanty is one of four employees honored with the award.
Delehanty, an assistant professor of cardiology at Strong Memorial Hospital and director of Strong’s Cardiovascular Center, was honored with the Chairman’s Quality Award for his "leadership role in developing the cardiovascular center model," and for "his meticulous attention to detail and his tireless devotion to his patients."
In addition to his outstanding performance as a physician, Delehanty was involved with the overall design, development, and construction process of Strong’s Cardiovascular Center, which was completed in late 1997.
Delehanty received his medical degree from Albany Medical College and his bachelor’s degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He completed his internship, residency, and fellowship at Strong Memorial Hospital.
Delehanty is board certified in internal medicine and in cardiovascular disease. He has authored numerous publications in the field of cardiology, he serves on several Strong Hospital Committees, and he is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha and the American Physiological Society.
