Alberta J. Miller Receives URMC Chairman’s Quality Award

During the annual meeting of the University of Rochester Medical Center Board, chairman Ronald B. Knight presented the second annual Chairman’s Quality Award to Alberta J. Miller. The award recognizes employees whose professional and personal standards exemplify quality patient care. Miller is one of four employees honored with this year’s award.

Miller, a patient unit secretary at Strong Memorial Hospital, was honored with the Chairman’s Quality Award for her compassion and her dependability. In presenting the award, Knight cited Miller for being "an employee who shares her skills and experiences to improve the care on other units," and for being "an employee who gets things done."

Miller is a 40-year employee of Strong Hospital and a designated trainer for new secretarial employees. She is active in the community, where she is a member of the Goodwill Baptist Church and the Rochester Urban League. Miller is also a member of the New York State Great Lakes Baptist Association.
