Hong Li, Ph.D., assistant professor of Nursing, University of Rochester School of Nursing, was recently presented the James G. Zimmer New Investigator Research Award at the American Public Health Association’s (APHA) annual meeting in Washington, D.C. Named after a distinguished researcher in the field of aging, chronic illness, and long-term care, the award from the Gerontological Health section of the APHA recognizes excellence in the research of aging and disability.
The award was based on Dr. Li’s research of family care for hospitalized elders. The long-term goal of her research is to develop and test nursing interventions in which nurses work together with family members in caring for hospitalized elders.
