October 12, 1998
The 11th annual Children’s Hospital at Strong Auction Gala, which was held on Saturday, October 3, 1998 at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center, raised $158,000 for Children’s Hospital at Strong. Over 350 attendees bid on items in both a silent and a live auction, as well as had an opportunity to make a donation to a specific department need. "People helped support a great cause and had a terrific time at the auction," said Wanda Edgecomb, Auction chair.
Children’s Hospital at Strong is a 112-bed facility within the University of Rochester Medical Center and is the primary medical center for ill children and adolescents in the region. Patients with virtually every diagnosis are treated at Children’s Hospital – from the pediatric neonatal intensive care unit to the new Strong Children’s Heart Center.
