Dr. Constantino Fernandez Relocates N. Clinton Ave. Practice to Strong Memorial Hospital

Constantino Fernandez, M.D., assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, has relocated his North Clinton Avenue practice to Strong Memorial Hospital, effective immediately. All patients who sought care from Dr. Fernandez at his 928 North Clinton Avenue location, may schedule appointments by calling (716) 275-8061. His practice at 2115 Chili Avenue remains operational and he will continue to see patients at that location as scheduled.
Dr. Fernandez previously operated an obstetrics and gynecology practice at the North Clinton Family Medicine and Women’s Health Center. He shared the center with primary care physician Elizabeth Romero, M.D.
Dr. Fernandez, who is bilingual, specializes in disorders of the female reproductive system, perinatal medicine, pediatric and adolescent gynecology, male and female infertility, and gynecological surgery. Both his Strong Memorial Hospital practice and his Chili Avenue practice include a bilingual nurse practitioner.
Dr. Fernandez joined the University of Rochester faculty in 1979 as a clinical instructor and assistant in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. From 1980 through 1983, he served as an associate obstetrician and gynecologist at Strong Memorial Hospital, and in 1981 was appointed assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Fernandez earned his medical degree at the School of Medicine – Mexico. He completed his post-doctoral training at a number of hospitals throughout Latin America and the United States, including a three-year obstetrics and gynecology residency at
St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, NY and a fellowship in family planning at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He is a member of several local, national, and international medical organizations.
