Goldstein Named Strong Health MCO President

The Strong Health Managed Care Organization (MCO) has named Steven I. Goldstein
as its president, an addition to his current responsibilities as CEO of Strong Memorial Hospital. Goldstein has been with the University of Rochester Medical Center since September of 1996 when he accepted a post as executive director and chief operating officer from Strong Memorial Hospital, and senior vice president for Managed Care for the Strong Partners Health System.
In June of 1997, Goldstein was named general director and chief executive officer for Strong. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Utica College of Syracuse University and a master’s degree in Hospital and Health Care Administration from St. Louis University Graduate School. A Pittsford resident, Goldstein lives on Chipmunk Trail.
Others appointed to Strong Health leadership positions include Anthony Suchman, M.D., who was named chief exective officer/chief medical officer, and John Olivier who will serve as vice president for Operations for the MCO.
The Strong Health MCO is a joint venture involving the Strong Health system and its three practitioner group partners: Highland Hospital Physician Organization, Rochester Community Physician Organization, and the University of Rochester Medical Faculty Group. The MCO is the negotiating arm of the Strong Health system and provides the administrative and care coordination services needed for the system to participate in managed care plans.
