Friends of Strong Director Named to Committee on Health Care Auxiliaries
February 16, 1998
Sue Grinnell, director of Friends of Strong Memorial Hospital, has been elected to a three- year term on the Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) Committee on Healthcare Auxiliaries. As a member of the Committee, Grinnell represents all member Auxiliaries in the Rochester Region. During 1998, Grinnell will also serve on the Advocacy Subcommittee.
The Committee on Healthcare Auxiliaries supports HANYS' mission by strengthening the participation of auxilians (more than 65,000 health care volunteers) in health care facilities' efforts to provide quality patient care and effective government and community relations. The Committee's goals are to encourage and assist Auxiliary leaders and members; to stimulate advocacy activity; and to provide guidance and educational opportunities through programs, publications and direct Auxiliary contact.
HANYS serves as the key advocate for more than 400 voluntary and public hospitals, nursing homes, home care agencies, hospice, adult day care programs, diagnostic and treatment centers, health systems, and other related health care facilities throughout New York State. HANYS' three major functions are representation, communication and advocacy.
Grinnell, a Brighton resident, has served as director of Friends of Strong for 18 years.
