Children's Miracle Network Balloon Campaign Takes Flight at Krispy Kreme
October 31, 2001
Enjoy a delicious doughnut and help children at the same time by taking part in Krispy Kreme's Miracle Balloon campaign through Nov. 11 at Krispy Kreme, 1150 Jefferson Road, Henrietta. Customers who buy a miracle balloon for $1 will receive a coupon for one free Original Glazed doughnut.
All proceeds benefit Strong Children's Hospital, the only children's hospital in the Rochester and Finger Lakes region. The funds raised help purchase new equipment, fund patient services and research programs, and help with special patient needs.
Miracle-balloon campaigns are taking place across the United States and Canada, raising money for 170 Children's Miracle Network-affiliated hospitals, including Strong Children's Hospital, which offers a 12-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, 52-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a new pediatric emergency department, and more.
Children's Miracle Network (CMN) is an international, non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and funds for children's hospitals. CMN-affiliated hospitals treat 17 million children annually. Since 1983, the network raised nearly $1.8 billion for children's hospitals, much of which is donated a dollar at a time by individuals throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Krispy Kreme was founded in Winston-Salem, N.C., in 1937, and is a leading retailer of premium quality doughnuts, including its signature Hot Original Glazed. The company operates more than 195 stores in 32 states. An estimated 5 million Krispy Kreme doughnuts are made each day. That's 1.8 billion annually.
Continuing its commitment to children, Krispy Kreme's Henrietta store will hold Krispy Kreme Day at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at Strong Children's Hospital. Doughnuts will be provided for patients, their families, and hospital staff.
