Monsters Needed For Season Of Screams At Balloon Manor
July 26, 2006
Area children have the opportunity to put their favorite scary, silly, or creepy monsters into Balloon Manor, a Halloween haunted house set for October.
The contest is open to all children up to age 18 who draw and submit the coolest and scariest monsters. The winning entries will be made into monsters by balloon artist Larry Moss and will appear in this year’s haunted manor at Halloween.
Entry forms are available in all Messenger Post Newspapers this week or by going to www.balloonmanor.com . Mail entries to James P. Wilmot Cancer Center, University of Rochester Medical Center, P.O. Box 278996, Rochester, NY 14627.
Winners in two categories – 9 and under and 10-18 – will receive tickets to Balloon Manor and Seabreeze Amusement Park. The grand prize winner will receive a super VIP party for 10 at Balloon Manor.
Open from Oct. 20-29 at the Medley Center, Balloon Manor is produced by the Entercom Family of Radio Stations and the Greater Rochester Jaycees. Proceeds support cancer care and research at the James P. Wilmot Cancer Center and Teens Living with Cancer.
Moss is renowned in his field for his large and technically challenging sculptures. Moss is also an experienced teacher of his art and author of several books on ballooning. Moss practices what he calls “arigami”, the art of shaping air through balloons.
