Breast Cancer Specialist Joins Wilmot Cancer Center

The James P. Wilmot Cancer Center recently recruited Alissa Huston, M.D., to support its Comprehensive Breast Cancer Program. “Dr. Huston is a great addition to our dynamic breast cancer team. Our patients will benefit from her expertise,” said Richard I. Fisher, M.D., director of the Wilmot Cancer Center.
Huston comes from Pittsburgh Cancer Institute where she completed a Fellowship in hematology/oncology. She is a graduate of Wheaton College and earned her M.D. at SUNY at Buffalo, before coming to Strong Memorial Hospital for her internship and residency.
Huston, senior instructor, has conducted research into cancer metastasizing to the bone, treatment of bone metastases, and diagnosing and treatment of chemotherapy-induced osteoporosis for women with breast cancer.
She is author of several research articles and a member of American College of Physicians, American Society of Hematology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Breast Diseases and American Society for Bone and Mineral Research.
