Looking for a laugh? Here’s your answer: Tim Thomas of Webster heads a night of humor that also helps kids at Golisano Children’s Hospital at Strong’s Hematology Oncology clinic Friday, Oct. 13 at the WebsterColumbusCenter, 70 Barrett St. Doors open at for the Comics for Kids show, which headlines Rochester’s Sky Sands, a nationally touring comic who has appeared in Cinemax and Showtime comedy specials.
The night not only brings entertainment – it works doubletime for charity. Each $25 ticket is tax deductible and helps kids fighting cancer and blood diseases at Golisano Children’s Hospital at Strong; proceeds raised through a silent auction will benefit underprivileged children growing up in the Dominican Republic
Last year’s show raised more than $12,500 for Golisano Children’s Hospital and kids overseas; this year, it organizers hope to raise much more – $17,500.
“Laughter is the best medicine,” said Thomas. “We’re banking on that. Hopefully our humor will help kids receive the treatments they need to get better.”
And, if the date’s booked on your calendar but you’d still like to support the causes, you can send a waist-up cut-out audience member in your stead. The cut-outs will be displayed – along with your name – in a “standing room only” section at the event.
The evening’s humor is recommended for adults and targets the 25 and older crowd.
