Medical Students Hold Auction for Alternatives for Battered Women

 The sixth annual art auction to benefit Alternatives for Battered Women will be held Friday Nov. 3 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Sarah Flaum Atrium in the Kornberg Medical Research Building at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

The silent auction is being organized by School of Medicine and Dentistry students. The auction will showcase art donated by students and local artists. It will include photographs students have taken during their international travels, woodcarvings, handmade quilts, jewelry and paintings. Students also are offering services such as cooking gourmet meals for parties in the home and babysitting.

Alternatives for Battered Women provides advocacy services, support, and shelter for survivors of domestic violence.

Free parking will be available in the parking lot at the Kornberg building.
