Donations Sought for Garage Sale Fund-raiser Jan. 27-29
J.B. Sterling Hosts Weekend Benefit for Wilmot Cancer Center
January 10, 2007
If you’re clearing clutter out of your house as part of a New Year’s resolution, consider donating the good stuff to support a garage sale fund-raiser for the James P. Wilmot Cancer Center at the University of Rochester Medical Center. J.B. Sterling Construction is accepting donations from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays, Jan. 13 and 20, at 36 West Ave., in Fairport.
“The Wilmot Cancer Center is an incredible resource for our community and we support its efforts to construct a new facility and find cures,” says Jeff Seidel, president of J.B. Sterling.
The firm is hosting the garage sale Saturday through Monday, Jan. 27-29, to support the expansion of the Wilmot Cancer Center’s patient care and research programs. Bargain hunters can shop from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27; noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28; and 8 a.m. to noon on Monday, Jan. 29, for fill-a-bag deals.
Sterling is collecting donations of records, CDs, lawn and garden tools, toys, used furniture, computer games, movies on DVD or videotape, books, housewares and sporting equipment. No clothing or stuffed animals will be accepted. Pick-up of large items can be arranged by calling (585) 425-4120 or (585) 739-0222.
All proceeds will help the James P. Wilmot Cancer Center, the Finger Lakes region’s largest center for cancer care and research, raise $42.5 million to expand its programs and construct a new state-of-the-art facility. For more information about the comprehensive campaign, call (585) 242-8988.
