Medical Physicist Joins James P. Wilmot Cancer Center

Sergio D. Ballester, M.S., D.A.B.R., was recently named associate medical physicist in radiation oncology at the James P. Wilmot Cancer Center at the University of Rochester Medical Center. He works closely with radiation oncologists to design treatment plans for cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy. Ballester was previously a medical physicist at Ohio Radiotherapy Associates in Cleveland and at the University of Pittsburgh Department of Radiation Oncology.
“He is a great addition to our radiation oncology treatment and planning team and our patients benefit from his expertise,” said Paul Okunieff, M.D., radiation oncology chair.
A graduate of University of Puerto Rico and The University of Texas Graduate School of Biomedical Science, he completed training in medical physics at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He is a member of the American Association in Medical Physicists. ##
