Human Services Agencies Hold Fair to Recruit Volunteers of Color
October 10, 2007
Human service agencies throughout Rochester want to improve their work by building a volunteer force that reflects all the people of the community.
A variety of agencies, including Strong Behavioral Health, will host a recruitment fair, Volunteers In Living Color, on Saturday, Oct. 13. The fair specifically is designed to highlight volunteer opportunities to African American, Latino, Asian/Pacific American, and members of other communities of color.
The fair will be held at the Sibley Building, 228 E. Main St., from noon. to 4 p.m.
Agencies that serve youth, elders, the economically disadvantaged, people with disabilities and others will be represented. Live entertainment, refreshments, and health information also will be available. Volunteer opportunities range from one-time to long-term situations.
