Local Restaurants Whip up Sweet Children's Hospital Fundraisers
January 28, 2008
Starting this week, some sweet fundraisers at local restaurants will benefit hospitalized kids.
In the next few weeks, Rochester-area Tim Hortons and IHOP restaurants will offer mouth-watering sweets that work double-duty – satisfying your cravings and fundraising for Golisano Children’s Hospital at Strong.
Beginning Wednesday, Jan. 30, and running through Wednesday, Feb. 6, Tim Hortons’ delicious, double-sized, chocolate chip Smile Cookies will be on sale at all Rochester area stores. Sure to remedy your chocolate fix, they cost only $1 apiece — and better yet, since all proceeds from the cookie sales support our region’s only children’s hospital, they’re virtually guilt-free.
Also, Children’s Miracle Network’s 3rd annual National Pancake Day Celebration, running from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, will turn free flapjacks from IHOP into funds for kids at children’s hospitals nationwide. How, exactly? The plan is simple: since the short stacks served are 100 percent free, on your way out you’ll be able to pass along some of your saved cash as a donation to Golisano Children’s Hospital at Strong. Just venture out to one of IHOP’s two Rochester locations: 2190 N. Goodman Street, Irondequoit, and 556 Jefferson Road, Rochester. For more information, visit www.ihoppancakeday.com.
