NICU Fundraiser will Raise a Glass to Region's Tiniest Fighters

February 13, 2008

Last year's benefit raised $40,000 -- enough to purchase one of the most advanced neonatal incubators available.

The 2nd annual Evening of Wine and Wishes, a benefit for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Golisano Children’s Hospital at Strong, will celebrate the nearly 1,200 premature and newborn babies in the Finger Lakes region who rely on the unit’s expert care each year.

The event raises funds, awareness and even wine glasses to support these babies’ special needs, beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at the Rochester Museum and Science Center, 657 East Avenue. This memorable night promises delicious fare – wine tasting from several Finger Lakes wineries, beer tasting from Custom BrewCrafters, heavy hors d’oeuvres and dessert. It will be paired with jazz music and a poignant portraiture series by local natural light children’s photographer, Amanda Padgham, whose art will offer a glimpse into the NICU.

Wish list items will be available to purchase for the hospital, and a silent auction held throughout the evening will showcase an assortment of wines. Last year’s generous bidding raised $40,000 – enough to purchase an additional Giraffe OmniBed, the most advanced incubator available.

Ticket are $95 per person; corporate sponsorship opportunities are available. To purchase, become a sponsor or learn more, call (585) 273-5948.
