Free Talks to Focus on Creating Your Best Year, Baby Care for Grandparents, and Enhancing Your Memory

The free To Your Health! series featuring health experts from the University of Rochester Medical Center continues in March at The Highlands at Pittsford, with programs offering advice on improving your life, caring for babies as a grandparent, and strategies for improving your memory.

Create the Best Year of Your Life is a four-part workshop slated for 4 to 5:30 p.m. Mondays, March 3, 10, 17 and 24, led by Christine Arnold, a registered nurse and certified integrative coach. To prepare for the program, participants are asked to read the book “The Best Year of Your Life” by Debbie Ford. Arnold will lead the class in discovering insightful and inspiring ways to envision what they want, create it, and plan for the changes they seek.

Seniors: Caring for Babies in Today’s World – Is it the Same as Yesterday? will be offered from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 4. Marilyn Campagna and Karlene Hill, registered nurses and childbirth and parenting instructors at the University of Rochester Medical Center, will share current information on baby care, teach communication skills to use with grandchildren’s parents, and offer tips on long-distance grandparenting. The class will also cover infant massage and babysitting tips for today’s grandparent, aunt or uncle.

Where Did I Put the Car Keys? What You Can Do to Preserve and Enhance Your Memory will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 18. Healthy-aging expert William J. Hall, M.D., will discuss memory changes in later life, scientific advances regarding human memory, and strategies for exercising the brain to enhance memory.
