URMC Presents Sixth Annual Men’s Health Day – Stay in the Game with Coach Marv Levy
Legendary Coach and Pro Football Hall of Famer to Give Keynote Address
July 28, 2009
URMC is doing its part to give men the tools they need to live long and vital lives by presenting Men’s Health Day from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Now in its sixth year, Men’s Health Day has been expanded to accommodate 500 men, ages 45 and up.
More than a dozen top specialists in men’s health will lead discussions in sessions titled “Kick Off: Maintaining Your Health Season After Season,” “X’s and O’s: Stroke Symptoms, Prevention and Treatment,” “Controlling the Clock: Exercise vs. the Fountain of Youth,” “Veteran Advice: Prostate Health and Sexuality,” and more. Participants will meet the experts for question and answer sessions and participate in hands-on demonstrations. The day also includes health screenings, breakfast, lunch and giveaways.
Former Buffalo Bills coach and Pro Football Hall of Fame legend Marv Levy will give the keynote address. Hired as Buffalo Bills coach at the age of 61, Levy has been aptly quoted as saying, “The age factor means nothing to me. I'm old enough to know my limitations and I'm young enough to exceed them.” Levy began coaching the Buffalo Bills at the age of 61, bringing them to four straight Super Bowls. An example of successful aging, Levy has survived prostate cancer and is now in his 80s. He continues to work and be involved in charitable causes.
Tickets for the event are $10 and includes free parking at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (585) 275-2838. Registration deadline is Friday, Aug. 28.
