Robert M. McCann, M.D., has been named CEO of Accountable Health Partners (AHP), a provider network that integrates hospitals and physicians in Rochester and its surrounding regions. McCann has served as interim CEO through AHP’s launch and development over the last year.
McCann’s experience as a practicing clinician and pioneer of new health care delivery and payment models has primed him to be an effective leader for AHP, building an accountable care network aimed at improving quality and value of health care through collaboration.
AHP’s membership includes UR Medicine’s Strong Memorial Hospital, Golisano Children’s Hospital, Highland Hospital, and F.F. Thompson Hospital. Physician membership comprises independent, community primary care and specialist physicians; the University of Rochester Medical Faculty Group; and the employed physicians of AHP’s member hospitals.
“AHP will leverage the power of collaboration between hospitals and physicians to deliver outstanding clinical outcomes at the best value,” McCann said.
A Professor of Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, McCann is also Acting Chief of the Division of Geriatrics and Chief of Medicine at UR Medicine’s Highland Hospital. He serves on the board of directors for Strong Health and Highland Hospital, and is currently Governor for the Upstate Chapter of the American College of Physicians.
McCann earned his medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical Center and is board certified in internal medicine, geriatrics, and hospice and palliative medicine.
