Video Game Competition Benefits Wilmot Cancer Center
March 31, 2004
Fast-fingered video gamers will be fighting off aliens to support the local battle against cancer during a Halo tournament on Saturday, April 3, at the University of Rochester Palestra. The tournament begins at 9:30 a.m. and funds raised support the James P. Wilmot Cancer Center at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
Halo is a popular XBox video game and this is one of the first fund-raising tournaments to feature this game. The double-elimination event is sponsored by ITS Computer Sales.
The top prize is an Apple IPod. There will be raffles throughout the day for prizes including a personal digital assistant (PDA) and MP3 player.
The cost is $25 per person for advance registration, or $30 the day of the event. To register, go to: www.rochester.edu/its/css/halo/index.
