Optometrist joins UR Eye Institute

Rebecca A. Lockemann, O.D., has been appointed to the faculty of the University of Rochester Eye Institute. In addition to comprehensive eye care, the optometrist specializes in special-needs patients, including children, the elderly and physically challenged individuals.
Lockemann will serve patients at the UR Eye Institute’s Brighton office, 100 Meridian Centre, with ophthalmologists Shobha Boghani, M.D., and Diane Singer, M.D.
She comes to Rochester from the Wayne Regional Eye Center in Newark. Prior to her position there, she cared for patients in Whittier, Calif.
Lockemann, a Petry-Lomb Scholarship recipient, earned her Doctor of Optometry degree at New England College of Optometry. She completed optometry internships at centers in Beverly Hills, Calif., Chattanooga, Tenn., Albuquerque, N.M., and Roxbury, Mass.
She is a member of the American Optometric Association, the New York State Optometric Association and the Rochester Optometric Society.
