Picnic Set May 6 to Celebrate Brain Tumor Awareness Week

Brain tumor survivors and their families, friends and medical staff will celebrate Brain Tumor Awareness Week with a picnic from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, May 6, at Brighton Town Park.
Many in attendance at the picnic will be members of Brainstormers and the Adult Brain Tumor Network at Strong Memorial Hospital, which provide support for brain cancer survivors and their families. Every year, more than 186,000 people will be diagnosed with brain tumors in the United States.
The event is sponsored by the University of Rochester Medical Center’s neurosurgery, pediatric oncology, radiation oncology departments and the James P. Wilmot Cancer Center.
