Strong Health Announces Long-Term Care Appointments

Strong Health has promoted Michael J. Bierley and Diane Cira, and appointed Marvell Adams, Jr. to positions within its long-term care affiliates.

Michael J. Bierley was promoted to president/CEO of Highland Community Development Corporation, The Highlands Living Center, and The Highlands at Brighton. He previously served as vice president, senior services, at Strong Health. Bierley came to Strong Health from the former Park Ridge Health System where he served as senior vice president of senior services. In his new role, Bierley oversees Strong Health’s long-term care facilities and new senior initiatives for Strong Health.

A Rochester native and resident of Chili, Bierley holds a master’s degree in social gerontology from Western Michigan University and a master’s of public administration in health administration from SUNY Brockport.  He serves on the board of directors for Visiting Nurse Service.

Diane Cira was promoted to executive director of The Highlands at Pittsford.  In her new role, Cira oversees the 135-unit senior living community, 60-unit enriched living program and the construction and marketing of 36 new cottage homes under development on the community’s 52-acre campus. Cira most recently served as marketing director for The Highlands at Pittsford, following 20 years in the professional training and development services industry.  Cira is a graduate of Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, with a degree in Business Administration.  She resides in Pittsford.  

Marvell Adams, Jr. was named administrator of The Highlands Living Center, a 122-bed skilled nursing facility located on The Highlands at Pittsford campus.  Prior to his appointment, Adams served as a project administrator at Monroe Community Hospital, a position he earned after completing administrator-in-training service there.  Adams holds a master’s of healthcare administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with a concentration in long-term care. While earning his master’s, he served as a project administrator at The Forest at Duke, a continuing care retirement community.

A native of West Columbia, S.C., Adams currently makes his home in Rochester.
