Experts to Discuss Genetics of Breast Cancer April 21

Breast cancer and genetics experts will discuss the genetics behind breast cancer at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, April 21, at the University of Rochester Medical Center Conference Center, located at the corner of Elmwood Avenue and Kendrick Road.

Michelle Shayne, M.D., breast oncologist with the James P. Wilmot Cancer Center, and Kristie Morrell, M.S., certified genetic counselor from Myriad Genetics Laboratories, will discuss the genetic mutations that increase the risk of developing breast cancer and who should consider getting genetic testing.

The event is part of an educational series sponsored by the Wilmot Comprehensive Breast Cancer Program.
