University of Rochester Eye Institute Names Board

The University of Rochester Eye Institute announces the formation of its inaugural advisory board .

Consisting of community members with an interest in vision care and research, the board is an advisory group that will support awareness-building and fund-raising efforts while promoting the teaching, research and service objectives of the Eye Institute. Each board member will serve a three-year term.

“We are committed to developing the University of Rochester Eye Institute as a nationally ranked facility with premier quality eye research, education and patient care,” says Board Chairman Daniel Chessin, co-president and CEO of Hahn Automotive Warehouse Inc. Members will participate in philanthropic endeavors, consultations with Eye Institute leadership and raising public awareness at the local, regional and national levels.

The new University of Rochester Eye Institute Board consists of:

  • Daniel Chessin, co-president and CEO of Hahn Automotive Warehouse Inc., who will serve as chair of the University of Rochester Eye Institute Board

  • Catherine Carlson, chair of the Chester and Doris Carlson Charitable Trust

  • David Flaum, president and owner of Flaum Management Co.

  • Barry Florescue, chairman of Century Financial Group Inc.

  • Barbara Kelley, corporate vice president of Communications and Investor Relations at Bausch & Lomb

  • Thomas Muldoon, M.D., an ophthalmologist with the New York Eye & Ear Infirmary and a University of Rochester alumni

  • Ann Mulligan, whose community involvement includes serving on the board of directors of Visiting Nurse Service of Rochester and Monroe County

  • Peter Parts, president and founder of Peter Parts Electronics

  • M. Richard Rose, former president of Rochester Institute of Technology

  • Ex-officio member Steven Feldon, M.D., director of the University of Rochester Eye Institute, professor and chair of the Department of Ophthalmology, University of Rochester Medical Center

  • Ex-officio member Brian Hendrick, associate director of Development, University of Rochester Eye Institute
