Roland's Ride Motorcycle Dice Run to Benefit Wilmot Cancer Center

August 09, 2005

Motorcycle enthusiasts will enjoy a day of riding through Rochester and the Southern Tier and support the James P. Wilmot Cancer Center at the University of Rochester Medical Center during Roland’s Ride Motorcycle Dice Run.  The 100-mile ride is set for Saturday, Aug. 13.

This is the fourth year for the run, which organizer Kyle Pagano started in memory of his friend, Roland Marchetti, who died of cancer. Marchetti was a 30-year veteran of the Rochester Police Department and led its motorcycle division for many years

“Roland was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. We wanted to put something together in his name, not only to enjoy a day of riding motorcycles, but also to benefit cancer research and those who have cancer,” says Pagano.

Registration for the ride will be from 10 a.m. to noon at J&D's Biker Leather, located at the corner of Buffalo and Howard Roads. The cost is $15 for motorcyclists, $10 for passengers, and  includes dinner and entertainment.
