ACOG District II Meeting

In October of 2008 and 2009, at the ACOG District II meeting, our simulation team presented four one-hour long simulation workshops creating the clinical emergency of postpartum hemorrhage. Participants had the opportunity to debrief the simulated event and discuss effective teamwork and communication strategies.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify clinical signs and symptoms of postpartum hemorrhage.
- Review current strategies for treatment of postpartum hemorrhage.
- Participate in group event debriefing.
- Discuss and review communication teamwork behaviors of effective teams.
Laurelton Fire Department Simulation Training
Members of the Laurelton Fire Department of Irondequoit, NY participated in a four-hour simulation training at the Center for Obstetrics and Gynecology Simulation. The training focused on improving their first responder knowledge and skills in handling emergency births and immediate newborn care.
