ACOG District II Meeting

In October of 2008 and 2009, at the ACOG District II meeting, our simulation team presented four one-hour long simulation workshops creating the clinical emergency of postpartum hemorrhage. Participants had the opportunity to debrief the simulated event and discuss effective teamwork and communication strategies.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify clinical signs and symptoms of postpartum hemorrhage.
- Review current strategies for treatment of postpartum hemorrhage.
- Participate in group event debriefing.
- Discuss and review communication teamwork behaviors of effective teams.
Laurelton Fire Department Simulation Training
Members of the Laurelton Fire Department of Irondequoit, NY participated in a four-hour simulation training at the Center for Obstetrics and Gynecology Simulation. The training focused on improving their first responder knowledge and skills in handling emergency births and immediate newborn care. Click the link below to see a short video of the event.
