David S. Guzick, M.D., Ph.D.

guzick Dr. Guzick is currently the Dean of the School of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Rochester. He was the Henry A. Thiede Professor and Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Rochester from 1995 until 2002.

Dr. Guzick received his M.D. and Ph.D. from New York University and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. He completed a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology at the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical School. He was director of reproductive endocrinology at Magee Women's Hospital at the University of Pittsburgh before becoming Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Rochester in 1995.

Dr. Guzick is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and in reproductive endocrinology. He served as an oral examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and its Division of Reproductive Endocrinology. He has served on several NIH study sections, having received funding to study polycystic ovarian syndrome and to conduct clinical trials in reproductive medicine. Dr. Guzick is currently principal investigator on several NIH grants and has published over 100 articles on a variety of topics in obstetrics and gynecology, infertility and reproductive endocrinology.

Current areas of interest:
Polycystic ovarian syndrome, endometriosis, amenorrhea, unexplained infertility and in vitro fertilization.
