Genomics and Translational Medicine Symposium- October 22-23, 2009
The Genomics and Translational Medicine Symposium was held at the University of Rochester on October 22-23, 2009. It was co-sponsored by the Office of Research Alliances and the Clinical and Translational Science Institute. The Symposium focused on topics in genomics and medicine, and included speakers from academia, government, and the private sector. The meeting was designed to explore the promise and challenges associated with personalized medicine, building on the University’s NIH Clinical and Translational Science Award and the recently established Clinical and Translational Science Institute at the University of Rochester.
The Symposium emphasized both technologies and applications related to translational medicine, while also discussing national policies impacting these fields.
The Symposium kicked-off on October 22nd with an evening keynote by Mara Aspinall (President & CEO of On-Q-ity, and member of the HHS Secretary's Advisory Committee on Genetics, Health, and Society).
