Orthotics and Prosthetics

Our Process

Our goal is to maximize your quality of life and to help you achieve as much independence as possible.

  • You may be referred to us by your physician, therapist, nurse, other care giver, or you may self-refer.
  • We may see you as an inpatient at Strong Memorial Hospital or Highland Hospital, or as an outpatient at our convenient, accessible Clinton Crossings location.
  • If you don't have a prescription, our practitioners will see you, conduct an evaluation, and then contact your physician to develop a prescription.
  • An initial consultation helps us to assess your individual needs and goals.
  • We determine if your needs can be met with a ready-made solution or if you need a custom device.
  • If a custom device is needed, anatomical measurements, a cast, and/or a laser scan is taken. We ask that you wear loose-fitting pants or bring shorts (if a leg is involved), or a short-sleeved T-shirt (if an arm is involved).

We fabricate devices on site using state-of-the art components and materials. This allows our practitioners to retain full control over the design, fabrication and fitting process and also expedite turnaround.

Whether your orthotic or prosthetic device is off-the-shelf or custom-fabricated, we will custom fit it to ensure that it meets your individual needs.

We educate each patient in the proper use and care of their orthotic or prosthetic device.

Some patients just need a single visit. Others need ongoing care. If you do, we'll be there to assess how well your device is working for you and to make adjustments, to let you know if there are new advances you should consider, to help you maintain your device and to make repairs to it whenever necessary.

Strong Orthotics and Prosthetics accepts most insurances. As a courtesy to our patients, we file insurance claim forms for services provided. Payment plans can be arranged for services or devices not covered by your insurance.
