APIII
The 11th annual Advancing Practice, Instruction and Innovation Through Informatics will be held August 16-18, 2006 at The Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre Hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia. APIII is a catalyst for informatics-driven improvements in pathology practice and research, as well as a unique networking forum for practitioners and industry leaders to share ideas and to identify success opportunities. APIII participants gain insights on current topics and applications in pathology informatics, focusing on information systems, data and integration standards, reporting, imaging, tissue banking and the relationship between pathology and oncology. Special emphasis is placed on the way pathology data is used to enhance patient care and research across the entire health care enterprise. Anyone interested in learning how informatics is impacting and transforming pathology (and oncology) is encouraged to attend. The conference draws a mix of national and international academic and practicing pathologists, oncologists, and researchers, as well as residents, fellows, and graduate students. Information systems administrators, support personnel, and laboratory managers from leading medical centers also comprise a significant portion of the attendees, as do industry-related developers, engineers and marketing representatives. |
