PACS 2007
7th Annual Conference

Preliminary Program*

Program Description:

The objectives of PACS 2007 are to provide attendees with the insight and experience of those who have expanded the digital healthcare transformation beyond radiology RIS and PACS outward into the entire healthcare enterprise striving for a paperless and filmless environment.

We have maintained the Practicum to provide the newcomers to the field with the fundamentals, however, these presentations have been updated to be of value to the more experienced in the field.

Focused sessions on Informatics, Advanced Visualization and Storage have been added. In addition to the topical lectures, focused sessions will provide exhibitors at PACS 2007 the opportunity to submit papers on these topics that will be judged based on criteria established by the Program Committee such as enhanced productivity, streamlined workflow, error reduction etc. Each focused session will be concluded with an "Ask the Experts" panel.

Two separate learning tracks have been added in the afternoon. Track A will discuss implementing RIS, PACS, CPOE, EHR and communication methodology in the digital environment.

Track B will discuss the impact the digital environment has on various clinical specialties and areas with respect to changes in workflow, HL7 and DICOM standards, integration and interoperability with other clinical systems, requirements for the physical facility, infrastructure, information flow, visualization and storage.

Other topics to be included are risk management from a healthcare and IT perspective, image perception, RHIOs, economic effects of ergonomics and the impact of HIPAA.

All lectures will be held in the Navarro Ballroom. Breakout Sessions will be held in either the Navarro Ballroom or Camino Real Room on the Lobby Level.
