Microscopy and Imaging - General

The University of Arizona Experimental Pathology Core has an excellent listing of Microscopy and Imaging Resources on the WWW. Many sections provide introductory and summary information as well as links. See, for example, the introduction to Digital Imaging.

Microscopy UK has an online magazine, Micscape, and other resources.

Microscopy Vendors Database probably has every link you'll ever want regarding microscopy--not just vendors of microscopes and parts, but also second-hand equipment, journals, education, you name it.

Molecular Expressions is a favorite of Microscopy UK and it's easy to see why. This site from Florida State University features a microscopy primer loaded with interactive Java tutorials. Also many microscopy links.

Nikon Microscopy U is similar to and related to the Molecular Expressions site. Lots of information.

The University of Iowa Central Microscopy Research Facility has a little bit of everything concerning microscopy--some images, technical notes, links, and lecture notes from their courses.

Journals and Magazines

The International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE) has a number of journals online including the Journal of Biomedical Optics and Journal of Electronic Imaging. Articles are highly technical.

Microscopy and Analysis is a magazine sent free-of-charge to scientists who specifiy using microscopy, chemical analysis and imaging equipment at work. There's monthly giveaways for subscribers and the site has a monthly synopsis of highlights from journals.

Microscopy Society of America has information regarding their journal and annual meeting, both entitled Microscopy and Microanalysis, and a number of WWW links.
