REMOVING MERCURY PIGMENT FROM ZENKERS FIXED TISSUE

1.        Deparaffinize and hydrate to distilled water.

2.        Place in Lugols iodine for 5 minutes.

3.        Rinse in two changes of distilled water.

4.        Place in 2% sodium thiosulfate for 1 minute.

5.        Wash in running tap water and rinse in two changes of distilled water.

6.        Stain as requested.
