Assay Development
When a particular assay that you need is not available here—or perhaps anywhere else—we have the resources to develop new assays that are custom-designed to your requirements:
- We are adept at developing new assays. Your project manager can help you determine if a new assay is required and then identify the department and person who has the expertise to develop that assay. If that capability is not available at the University of Rochester Medical Center, we will do the research to determine where that expertise is available.
- If you have have been using a custom assay to handle small volumes, we can provide the expertise and resources to implement that test for larger scale testing.
- We regularly research what tests are being done at other labs throughout the university system. This enables us to be proactive in offering the most advanced tests for your trial or project.
- When the test you need is available from a separate lab, we can help that lab to identify the changes necessary to bring their procedures into compliance with FDA requirements.
- We can work with you to develop new assays based on your research or your compounds.
- We will design and develop studies to determine if a new assay is performing as expected.
