Case 2: Submandibular Neck FNA

Sorry, this was not a case of malignant lymphoma, low grade.

Low grade lymphomas are probably one of the most difficult diagnoses in cytopathology. They key feature is a monotomous population of predominantly small lymphocytes (slides 1 & 2). The use of ancillary techniques including flow cytometry and IHC is pivotal in these cases to make a diagnosis, since there is considerable overlap between benign and malignant small lymphocytic proliferations.
