Program in Aging and Developmental Disabilities (PADD)
Mission
The mission of the Program in Aging and Developmental Disabilities (PADD) is to increase the awareness, knowledge, and skills of caregivers, administrators, clinicians, and researchers in the field of developmental disabilities and in the aging networks. PADD will facilitate positive attitude change, interdisciplinary practices, and technology transfer between these service providers.
Services
PADD is staffed with professionals who have extensive backgrounds in aging and developmental disabilities. PADD provides:
- Education and training on a wide range of interesting topics about the growing population of people aging with developmental disabilities
- Environmental assessments to identify strategies, modifications, and interventions agencies can implement in order to support "aging in place" whenever possible
- Assistance in identifying and measuring program or agency-specific interventions aimed at improving the lives of older adults with developmental disabilities
PADD will continue to expand its mission and services to further educate and serve society regarding older persons with developmental disabilities.
